Here are a few of the first pictures from Vienna. The first group is a variety of Vienna sites in general, including the very impressive churches I toured. The second group is from the Hofburg Imperial Palace and that is followed by a group of pictures from the Schonbrunn Palace.

The following group of images are from the Hofburg Imperial Palace tour which include the Hofburg Treasury, the Sisi Museum and Imperial Apartments. The first pictures are from the Hofburg Treasury, which contain one of the world’s most stunning collections of royal regalia including sparkling crowns, jewels and gowns. When you get to the full size images of Empress Elizabeth (Sisi) and Emperor Franz Josef I, the pictures that follow are from the Sisi Museum and Imperial Apartments where they actually lived.

Schonbrunn Palace was the summer palace of the Hapsburgs. It’s is on the outskirts of Vienna and grew from a hunting lodge in the 16th century to the palace it is today. Below are a few pictures from my tour of the palace grounds where the Vienna Philharmonic performs their summer concerts and the royal apartments of the Hapsburgs.
